Exhibition of Selected Cultural Relics in Summer Palace

Summer Palace Management Office launched the “Exhibition of Selected Cultural Relics in Summer Palace”, aiming at highlighting the important role of Summer Palace in the internal affairs and diplomatic activities in the Qing dynasty as an imperial garden and palace residence by token of such selected collections of cultural relics as porcelain, jade, bronze and furniture together with old photos. Meanwhile, the exhibition profoundly presents the overall value of the Summer Palace and its rich collection of cultural relics from the perspectives of landscape, architecture, interior furnishings and daily life in this unique royal garden in Beijing.

From May 18 to November 10, 2013, the Summer Palace and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture jointly held the exhibition entitled “Well of Rare Treasures—Quintessence Exhibition of Beijing Imperial Garden Collections”.

From December 17, 2014 to March 3, 2015, the Summer Palace hosted the exhibition entitled “Priceless Treasures in Summer Palace” at the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This exhibition is an important national cultural exchange program in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the established diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.
