Eternal Beauty of Fair Ladies—Exhibition of Minaudiere, Handbags and Jewelry by Hong Kong Liang Yi Museum (2014)

In September 2014, the Summer Palace and Hong Kong Liang Yi Museum co-hosted a fabulous exhibition entitled “Eternal Beauty of Fair Ladies—Exhibition of Minaudiere, Handbags and Jewelry by Hong Kong Liang Yi Museum”. Being the largest collection of this category by far, this exhibition consists of four parts, namely “Blending East and West”, “Glittering Enamel”, “Industrial Imprints” and “Handbag Glamor”. A total of 265 fashion accessories are on display which are usually carried by aristocratic women in the West in social activities including powder boxes, cosmetic cases and clutches. Designed by such world-renowned jewelry brands as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron, these fine accessories are mostly made of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls and enamel with exquisite craftsmanship and dazzling resplendence. Both designing and display effects perfectly complement the extensive collections of jewelry in this exhibition. The Summer Palace was highly commended by distinguished guests and visitors from all walks of life for its high-level display arrangement and organization.
